Well it was midsummers day in /cornwall so naturally there was horizontal rain and high winds. we nearly aborted the whole expedition but luckily for us the Bols had set off early so we had to go! They must have had a premonition as on night 2 their tent nearly collapsed in high winds so clearly they thought they might as well get there early!!!
Still we were not outdone and after geting the tent up we were ready to party.
On Saturday the entire tram of Chadawicks, haygarthes, Bols and Bells plus our friend Sabrina from Paris all bicycled to Padstow to Padstow along the railway track and back.
Polite as ever I gave up my bike to Ann for the ride back against the wind. I had to suffer the indignity of getting lost with young haygarth in the Bongo . Luckily we found ourselves in a small hamlet where there happened to be a little ale house. We went in for directions and were well received in the Slateminers Arms.
Saturday night was a battle against the elements . One tent nearly collapsed but we did survive it all intact. We recovered in Polzeath in blissful sunshine prior to getting home and going to bed at 5.00pm!!!!

Lovely time. A very honest exposition of what happened Tom. Rather akin to the Guardian. Whilst my spin was more glossy, more like the Daily Mail or something - http://philhaygarth.blogspot.com/2008/06/carry-on-cam
