What can I say about a walk in the South Hams with Preston other than there is little else which is more fun. Starting by parking the car by the beautiflu little church in Kingston ... walking past the Dolphin ( excellent pub) and then heading south east through valleys and farms until you come to a charming ruined old mill. Here you can get in the wind a small flavour of old Devon life. Then up to Ringmore to the Jouneys End for a pint. Great pub and admirable landlady. Then down a wide valley to the sea. Here a wonderful view east to Burgh Island but we head west to the Erme estuary. Here suddenly the view spreads up the estuary to the old Mildmay White estates. Then its just a couple of miles back up the estuary to the waiting delights of the Dolphin.
