The Lakes 2007

Al Scott Smith, Dave Greaves, Dave Cole, John Serenyi, John Fewster, Tim Bayliss, Rich Steel, Martin Wills & I have just finished a brilliant weekend in Borrowdale in the Lakes.
We were based in the Langstrath Hotel a great small hotel far up the valley. We arrived at various times during Thursday ready for a wonderful walk right up the valley over on the Friday . This of course followed a rather liquid evening. We were led in this as ever by Bayliss. The walks over the next two days were truly wonderful , awsome and suitably knackering!
The company was as ever fantastic. The hotel was largely a big success. The beer was varied and excellent. The food was really exceptional. The owners were friendly and welcoming and even tolerated a choral session late on saturday! The staff were great fun , helpful and kept a decrepid bunch of old men happy.
John Fewster & I had to leave early on Sunday so missed what would have been a special walk in the sunshine on Sunday. We did however leknowing that England had beaten the French and were in the RWC Final yet again. A great weekend just got even better
